Here’s how it all works, from the moment we hit the road to bidding you a fond farewell.
Our performers are often on the move from the crack of dawn. Singing Waiters Official covers events across the UK and abroad, so depending on your venue, we could be travelling for several hours to get there.
We aim to arrive around two hours before your guests are expected, giving us plenty of time to unload our equipment, get set up and sound check without anyone spotting us. Keeping the surprise under wraps is crucial, so you’ll find us in stealth mode from the moment we arrive.
Once inside, we’ll set up our professional sound system and run a discreet sound check. We want to get the perfect volume, as well as acoustics, balance, backing tracks and making sure the performance fits the space perfectly. It’s also a chance to warm up our voices, check harmonies and run through any specific cues for your event.
When everything’s ready and checked, we disappear, have a cuppa tea, some water, vocal rest, before … showtime!
From here, the real fun begins. Dressed just like your venue staff, we blend into the background, topping up drinks, clearing glasses, pointing out where the toilets are and quietly getting to know the room. We’re careful not to give anything away, but we’re always on alert for the perfect moment.
This undercover section usually lasts a couple of hours which is enough time to fully embed ourselves without raising suspicion.
Once the dessert and coffee has been served and your guests are nicely settled, it’s time for the moment no one saw coming.
With a dramatic start, usually in the shape of a staged fall, the performance kicks off and the room quickly goes from confused whispers to full-blown cheers. What follows is around 30 minutes of high-energy, interactive entertainment, featuring up to 8 songs tailored to your event.
Expect napkin waving, singalongs, impromptu dance floors and more than a few teary eyes. It’s the perfect energy boost for that post-dinner lull, and it never fails to get people talking.
After the final note, we quietly pack away our kit, which usually takes about half an hour. If you’ve got speeches, awards or a DJ lined up next, we’ll keep everything low-key so we’re not interrupting the flow of your day.
Once we’re off-site, it’s back on the road, and just like that, the surprise has come and gone. But trust us, the memories will last forever.
